Today was better than yesterday. Business was slow today. So slow that I watched "In the Line of Fire" and "The Siege" on HULU. I paused the movie if I had a customer or phone call. It was quite enjoyable.

I think I might clean my room this weekend so I can set up my drum set. It's been a long time since I played them.

Finally, I am feeling a lump in my throat, which is what happened when I was having thyroid problems. Hopefully it's just a side effect from missing my thyroid meds a few days ago. If I must have my thyroid removed it will probably put me in bankruptcy because surgery is extremely expensive and I don't have health insurance.

I hate our health care system. I don't agree with national health care, but I hate the fact that hospitals charge an ungodly amount of money to be hospitalized, and that they will accept like a quarter of the original bill from insurance companies. I bet if an uninsured patient proposed the same offer, the hospital would want full payment.

A buddy of mine had a device implanted in his back for pain. The surgery took one afternoon and he spent the night in the hospital. His bill was $99,000. Can you belive that sh**! But that's not all, the hospital accepted $18,000 from his insurance company. Now, I wonder if the hospital would accept $18,000 from an uninsured individual. I guess someone has to pay the college tuition bills for the hospital administrator's children.
