50 lb challenge

Here's an email I received from my friend Kevin B about last weekend:

Let’s chalk this up as a splurge weekend. You have been going hard since January and maybe this will be a good break. BUT, tomorrow, you have got to get back on track. How about you knock out another 50 lbs before the end of June? Good goal to set?
I believe this is a good goal to set. I can't control how much my body loses, but I damn sure can control what I eat, drink, and how much I exercise. I will hit all of my marks and see if I can lose another 50 lbs by the end of June. As Joe from Family Guy says, "Let's do this!"
Today I brought my lunch to work, and I'm about to go drink a lot of water. At the end of June I will post my first after picture. Right now at a 50 lb loss there's not too much of a noticeable difference, but all of the blogs that I follow of people in similar situations as myself, 100 lbs seems to be the start of a very noticeable difference in appearance.

I will post my food and exercise tonight.

Thanks

  1. Good luck with your goal! I look forward to that picture :)

I had a bit of a splurgy weekend myself, but it's over now.

  2. I don't know if it's a weight lost thing as much as percent loss to notice change. Though I'd bet you can tell a 50 pound loss by putting two pics up - that's quite a lot so far! I didn't have people comment on my weight loss until I'd lost about 16% of my starting weight.

  3. Stephen, congrats man. I am looking forward to hearing about your progress. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out. You are correct, your biggest challenge is yourself. Good luck and I know getting into better shape is only going to make you a better businessman.

  5. New here, via your new friend Jack! ;-)

I am very impressed with how you are getting back on track and putting new goals out there. We all just have to keep doing the right thing for ourselves.
