Hump day update

This week has been great.

Everything was perfect on Monday. I walked, ate 3 good meals, 2 good snacks, drank a lot of water, and went swimming.

On Tuesday I installed a phone system in a job site with no air conditioning, which wasn't so bad. It was a cloudy day. I ate a good breakfast, supper, and one snack. Also, I ate lunch with a couple of the guys at the job site. We ate at a little hot dog/burger joint. I had a regular hamburger all-the-way (mustard, ketchup, onion, lettuce, and pickles), baked chips, and an extra large diet coke (I was extremely thirsty and caffeine deprived.) Additionally, throughout the day I drank a lot of water. So, Although I ate a fried burger for lunch, I didn't overdo it. I didn't get a double cheeseburger, large order of fries, nor did I get a sweet tea. I feel Tuesday was a victory.

Today I ate three good meals and one good snack. I didn't walk because of the rain, but I did swim. The swimming is getting easier every time I go. Once I get in a rhythm, I just swim my laps (like Forrest Gump, "I just ran"). The only big no-no today is I didn't drink my water throughout the day. I have drank a few cups tonight, but I've noticed the greatest results (losing weight and feeling good) if I drink a lot of water throughout the day.

Finally, I want to thank Jack Sh*t for getting after me the other day. That really helped when I stepped up to the counter at that burger joint. I did think of the 50 lb challenge but I also thought, "I don't want that Jack Sh*t getting after me again." Thank You

Finally #2, I also want to thank everyone following, reading, and commenting on this blog. I'm amazed at all of the encouragement that everyone gives.

Have a great rest of the week.

  4. That's what I'm talking about. Take it one day at a time, keep stringing one good day after another and things will change for the better.

It won't be easy, but it's within you to make it happen.

  5. You're doing it! Making better choices. That's all you have to do, each day, is make a better choice and you'll get there. Keep up the great work Stephen!

  8. Way to go neighbor!! (I'm just across the state line in GA) A lot of people with less desire and strength of character would have told Jack to take a hike. The fact that you didn't speaks volumes about the kind of man that you are.
