Sunday 07/05/09

Alright, I finished up the weekend with a good food day. I splurged a little at lunch and ate a T-bone steak.

I can remember July 4ths of the past. They involved a ton of bbq, ice cream, cake, cookies, fast food, ice cream, potato salad, homemade baked beans, macaroni and cheese, biscuits, and green bean casserole. Did I mention ice cream? You want to know something? I didn't miss any of this stuff this weekend. Nor did I crave it. VICTORY!!!!!!!! I did eat some ribs and tater salad on Fri. So, I felt that I celebrated the 4th with some moderation.

I hope you all have a good week.

  2. Yay for you! Here in Australia we don't celebrate July 4th, so (luckily) I'm not faced with all that tempting food - hah, I guess that's one good thing about Australia still being part of the British Commonwealth!
I can see why it would be hard not to overindulge & I'm really happy for you that you could still celebrate & stay in control. Moderation rocks!

  4. Hey Stephen -
Just some encouragement - I myself weighed over 600 - I'm not sure how much, since the scales I had access to didn't read above that. I would guess 650. I've lost 300+ lbs and kept it off for 5 years.

My lovely wife started out above 300 and now weighs 150 and has maintained for 7 years. Both of us did this weight loss in around the same amount of time as you are attempting to.

If you ever need any advice, or just vent to someone that has been there, please do not hesitate to contact me!

    Good luck!!!
