Wednesday 06/17/09

I skipped swimming today because I had a late afternoon meeting. So I will be swimming on Thur and Fri, but I have to remember to call and reserve a lane. Apparently the gym prefers that people reserve a swimming lane. I appreciate them telling me after I arrived to pool full of lap swimmers last Friday.

Just tracked the shipment for my new ipod shuffle, waterproof enclosure, and waterproof headphones. They'll be here on Fri. I'll put together and post my workout play lists tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be a busy day. I've got my weekly BNI meeting at the butt crack of dawn. Then a ribbon cutting for a new business in Vestavia. Then I have a few computers to work on. If I remember, I'll take some pics tomorrow morning at the two events. I'm getting a little bored with my daily postings.

Finally, today's food was good. I went overboard on the 40 cal popsicles at dinner. Maybe it won't wake up that Jack Sh*t guy ;) One thing that I've been noticing lately is how much better I feel when I exercise. It's especially noticeable when I swim. I feel the most important thing with exercise is to find exercises that you enjoy. I actually look forward to swimming. Especially when I can listen to music while swimming. It allows my to get away from everything.

Have a great Thursday.

  2. I tried those Popsicle brand Sugar-Free popsicles and they were only 15 cals and pretty yummy. 15 is less than 40, so just an idea :)

  3. Stephen, Your food is really looking good today, I see a real improvement in the quality. It's looking more like "real" food every week and I am happy about that. Good discovery today...The only good exercise is one that you will repeat... yes! you have to enjoy it. That is the key! The ipod will make walking really fun too. I love swimming. It's my favorite, especially in the summer. This week is flying by! Stay busy and you are doing phenomenal.

  4. Whatever gets you through the day, but just keep in mind that empty calories are empty calories. They're not doing anything good for your body. I agree with Robin... you're making noticeable, positive changes in what you eat. That and the exercise is all you need to keep poppin' great numbers on that scale.

If Jack Sh*t being over your shoulder with a stick works for you, I'm more than happy to play that role.

    Keep it up!

  5. I've got to get the waterproof stuff! But then my daughters will want the water proof stuff too...and wow, that might get expensive!
Nice post by the way. Absolutely agree with Robin and Jack...Great choices my friend. Are you talkin' 40 calorie Bomb pops? I have a box in the freezer right now...soooo good!

You're doing wonderfully and it's a real pleasure to follow your success.

  7. Stephen,
I just found your blog. It sounds like you are doing very well. I am so proud of what you doing. I did not realize your dad died from complications from stomach bypass surgery. Alan and I will be praying for you.

  9. Hey Jamie, It's good to hear from you. My mom told me that you and the gang dropped by, I think, around Christmas time. I hope things are going well for you and yours. Tell Alan I said hello. Thank You.

  10. Try freezing some of your fruit or blending it with your yogurt then freezing to make your own Popsicles. They are healthy and will give you a serving of fruit! Easy suggestion - frozen banana and the potassium will help with cramps :p
